Tour Austin Tubing Final Details

August 24, 2019

We are looking forward to hosting you and your friends on our tubing tour tomorrow. Here is the important river tubing information for you to read and pass along to them. Your tour guide Victoria will be facilitating the entire experience for everyone. This info will help everyone know what to expect so they can have the best day possible!

We’re picking y’all up at the Austin Visitor Center, which is at 602 East 4th Street, buses load on Red River between 4th and 5th streets. There is a lot of construction in the area, look for the large white bus. We always strongly suggest guests take ride shares to prevent any driving under the influence. The trip is scheduled to depart at 11 am, so if you can try to arrive 15-20 minutes early, it will really help us out loading everyone’s drinks and getting you rolling on time.

We will have coolers and ice for everyone, and get the tubes for the coolers set up when you arrive. The tour is BYOB, and everyone needs to arrive at the Visitor Center with their drinks. Glass and Styrofoam are not allowed on the river, so everyone needs to only bring drinks in cans, plastic or refillable containers. We always recommend bringing water and snacks along with your favorite drinks.

We’re taking y’all to the San Marcos River, which is a approximately a 45 minute drive depending on traffic. We’ll be on the river for 3 to 3 1/2 hours. It is going to be very hot and sunny on Saturday, so sun protection is going to be vital. Bring lots of sunscreen, hats and cheap sunglasses, and plan to reapply sunscreen on the river. We always recommend to bring water shoes to make walking in and out of the river more comfortable. Beyond your swimwear, water shoes and sun protection, you won’t need to bring anything else with you on the river. Any valuables can be left on the bus, they’ll be perfectly safe and sound with the driver until we get back on the bus. If anyone is planning to bring phones on the river, please make sure they are in very waterproof containers. We’ve seen tons of phones get lost or seriously water damaged even in ‘waterproof’ pouches.

Victoria will be working very hard to make sure everyone remains safe and has an amazing experience on the river and happily accepts gratuities for his efforts. Your guests may want to bring cash or use Venmo to show their appreciation, they would be most grateful!
