How to plan the perfect BBQ tasting day for your bachelor weekend

THE PERFECT BBQ TASTING FOR YOUR BACHELOR WEEKEND

The Perfect BBQ tasting for your bachelor weekend

Your best friend is getting married, and you are in charge of the bachelor weekend. The typical best man might be nervous planning a weekend’s worth of activities for a group of people he may not know well, (including the groom’s weirdo brother-in-law who wants to spend the weekend playing complicated board games). You, on the other hand, are happy to face the challenge head-on. You have an ace up your sleeve, and that ace is called “Austin.”

Austin is the perfect place for a bachelor weekend. It’s cool. It’s centrally located and has excellent weather. It’s the live music capital of the world. And its got barbecue –barbecue that is so good that it may change your outlook on life.

If you are looking for an activity that will appeal to all members of your party, reach out to Tour Austin. We can create a custom tour that will give you an overview of the best of Austin Barbecue. And we should know. Our business is knowing the BEST parts of our city.

So what barbecue joints will we visit? The possibilities are overwhelming. Here are a few places to consider, either for your tour or on another trip to Austin.

La Barbecue

Reviewers say the brisket from la Barbecue is life-altering. Sure this might be an exaggeration, but customers wouldn’t wait up to three hours in line for mediocre food, would they?

La Barbecue shares its space with a small grocery store. Customers can purchase drinks such as canned and bottled beers and other grocery items from the store in a separate transaction. You and your buddies can enjoy a few cold ones as you wait in line for the barbecue.

Franklin Barbecue

Customers of Franklin Barbecue also are happy to wait in line for their famous brisket. You’ll see barbecue aficionados outside of Franklin’s playing corn hole or sipping on beers while hanging out in comfortable lawn chairs as they wait for their melt-in-your-mouth brisket.

Sure, Franklin is famous for their meat, but you also might want to save some room for their Banana Bourbon Pie.

Since we are custom designing your barbecue tour, you might consider taking a break between barbecue restaurants to go boot shopping.  Even if the western look is not usually your thing, every man needs at least one pair of cowboy boots.

You won’t have a difficult time finding a place in Austin that sells boots. Let us drop you off at Allens Boots, Heritage Boot, Brazos Trading Co., or Texas Custom Boots. Let the pros working at the shop help fit you. Boots fit differently than loafers or tennis shoes.

The manly smell of the fine leather at the boot store may even inspire you to get a Stetson hat as well.

Terry Black’s Barbecue

Terry Black’s serves their meals cafeteria style. Don’t let the casual serving style fool you. This isn’t typical cafeteria food. You’ll pick your sides and desserts as you go through the line, and you and the rest of your party will purchase the meat by the pound. Although you may be full to the brim after trying their burnt ends and brisket, consider topping your meal off with peach cobbler or banana pudding.

Lambert’s Downtown Barbecue

Even though it is difficult to imagine, after visiting three barbecue joints, you may be ready to try something different. Lambert’s not only serving excellent barbecue, but they also serve steaks and sandwiches as well.

The Salt Lick BBQ

Maybe you want to extend your barbecue tour outside the city. Our professional drivers will be happy to drive you to Driftwood, where you will enjoy the rural atmosphere of The Salt Lick BBQ.

Is your mouth watering thinking of all that fabulous barbecue that you will enjoy during your bachelor weekend in Austin? It should be.

While this list of best Austin barbecue is far from complete, it will at least get you started. Contact us to get more ideas on the best restaurants to visit in Austin. Let us know how many are in your party and leave the rest up to us. We will design a custom tour that the whole party will be talking about for years to come.

Transportation

To make sure that everyone in your party can relax and let loose, consider hiring a driver for your bachelor weekend. R&R Limo and Bus have been serving the Austin area for over 15 years, and they will take care of the worry and planning involved in transporting a large group of people.
