Winery Tour in Fredericksburg Texas
Are you jealous of your friends who have already visited the wineries in nearby Fredericksburg? Do you want to go, but you aren’t crazy about driving all that way? Or maybe you are happy driving to Fredericksburg, but you know you won’t be able to drive back after a day of tastings?
Tour Austin is here to the rescue! We would be happy to drive you and your friends to Fredericksburg for a fun-filled day of wine tasting and shopping. When you arrive in Fredericksburg our friends at 290 Wine Shuttle will take over.
Here’s how your day will work.
You arrive at Austin Visitor’s Center at 602 E. 4th Street before 9:30 a.m. We will load our luxury shuttles promptly, and our professional drivers will transport you to Fredericksburg, which is located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. You and your friends can enjoy a pre-tour cocktail as we maneuver through the crazy Texas traffic.
Once we arrive in Fredericksburg at around 11 a.m., the 290 Wine Shuttle will take you to the wineries themselves. Their shuttle makes a continuous loop through the quaint town. You shouldn’t have to wait long, as the shuttle stops at each of the locations approximately every 10 minutes.
And there are myriad spots for you to explore.
Wedding Oak Winery
The taste of old-world wines inspired the winemakers of Wedding Oak Winery. They blend complimentary grapes grown in Texas to create a broad portfolio of offerings.
Fat Ass Winery
Fat Ass Winery’s motto is “where every ass deserves a glass!”
You may associate peaches with the state of Georgia, but the Texas Hill Country produces great peaches as well. Fat Ass Winery uses that local produce to set the standard for peach wine. You better move quickly! Their peach wine is so famous it sometimes sells out!
Visit Vintage Cellars for not only some of the best central Texas wine and beer but also local salsas and sweet as well.
You’ll love exploring Vintage Cellars’ location. Their building was originally Rocky Hill School, which was in operation between 1902 and 1977. Stop by to experience Vintage Cellars’ famous southern hospitality.
Come try Becker Vineyards’ award-winning 2016 Chevaux Noir as well as their other offerings. This family-owned winery started 20 years ago when the Beckers moved to hill country from San Antonio. Now their 308-acre ranch grows enough grapes to produce over 100,000 cases of wine each year.
Becker Vinyard’s wine has been served in the White House, the James Beard Foundation, and the Texas Governor’s Mansion.
Family-owned Sweetbriar Rose is proud to offer pastries, sandwiches, coffees, beer, and of course, wine. All of their baked goods are made from scratch in house. And their wine is available from a seasonally rotating menu.
If you need a break from tastings, you can always enjoy a lunch and a little shopping before the Tour Austin shuttle picks you up at 5 p.m.
Why book with us and 290 Wine Shuttle?
Most of the wineries in Fredericksburg only allow the 290 Wine Shuttle to bring guests to their property on Saturdays. In other words, no other private busses or shuttles can get you as close to the wineries as our partner shuttle service can.
Plus, the 290 Wine Shuttle drivers will allow you to leave your purchased items on the shuttle throughout the day. They will make sure your items are stored safely. And we will make sure they get back to Austin when we return at 6:30 that evening.
Tour Austin knows you want to spend your money on tastings and cases of wine to bring home. That’s why we only charge $40 for the ride to and from Austin. The 290 Wine Shuttle tickets can be purchased from their website for $29.
So text your friends and find a Saturday that works for your visit to Fredericksburg. As soon as you have a date, book your tour through Tour Austin. Tours may sell out, so make sure you act quickly.
If you discover that you need to reschedule, please contact Tour Austin 48 hours before our Saturday departure time. We are not able to make any refunds for cancellations with less than 24 hours notice, but you can receive credit toward a future tour.
